Construction Update

Eighth grade AVID students from Beacon, Frederick D. Thomas, and Mariner Middle Schools teamed up with kindergarten students from Lewes, Love Creek, and Milton Elementary Schools for a creative, cross-age project inspired by two books: The Color Monster: A Story About Emotions by Anna Llenas and Go Away, Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley.

Seventh grade students at Frederick D. Thomas Middle School celebrated the completion of their first English Language Arts (ELA) unit by sharing creative book projects that reflected their independent reading.

World-renowned jazz trombonist, composer, and bandleader Wycliffe Gordon brought his extraordinary talent and passion for music education to the Cape Henlopen School District this week, leading a hands-on jazz clinic for students from across Sussex and Kent counties.

On October 17, Cpl. Yatsko took his connection-building to the next level by spending time in Mrs. Jennifer Bradshaw’s 8th grade science class, where he spoke with students about the parallels between accident reconstruction and science.
